Tuesday Stitch - Eye of Partridge

The Eye of Partridge is used to reinforce the heel of socks with a nice textured pattern. With a solid yarn, the Eye of Partridge the pattern is subtle. I’ve also seen socks where the slipped stitch was used with a contrasting color. It really makes the pattern pop.

You can use a garter stitch edge with this heel stitch pattern. I just used a slip stitch edge to keep the directions simple.

Eye of Partridge Directions:

Row 1: (WS) Sl1, p to end of row.
Row 2: (RS) Sl1, k1, *sl1, k1,* rep until last 2 stitches, k2.
Row 3: (WS) Sl1, p to end of row.
Row 4: (RS) Sl1, k1, *k1, sl1,* rep until last 2 stitches, k2.
